Jean Metz Death, Obituary – Jean Metz has passed away untimely and unexpectedly leaving friends, loved ones, family, and the entire community heartbroken and in grievance, according to a social media sharing. Jean M. Metz, age 97, formerly of Forks Township and Tatamy, died away on Thursday, December 15, 2022, in the comfort of her home in Moore Township, surrounded by her devoted family. She was born in Forks Township. She was married to the late Stanley V. Metz, with whom she had a long and happy marriage that lasted 47 years till he passed away in the year 1990.
Jean Davis was the daughter of John R. Sr. and Rose (Bonstein) Davis, both of whom passed away, and were born in Upper Nazareth Township. She received her secondary education at Nazareth. Jean worked as a floor lady at the former Pioneer Sportswear locations in Stockertown and Nazareth for almost 23 and a half years before she retired. During that time, she was a member of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union. She treasured her grandkids and great-grandchildren and found great satisfaction in tending to her yard and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those who survive include her granddaughters Sherri Gestl and husband Brian, with whom she resided, and Vanessa Biechy and husband Dale Jr., of Moore Township; great-granddaughters Amanda Gestl of Bensalem and Abby Gestl of Collegeville; great-great-grandson Jacob; a brother named Gerald Davis who lives in Phoenix, Arizona; a son-in-law named Joseph Csernak who lives in Moore Township; and a large number of niece She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheran G. Csernak, as well as by her husband, Stanley; three brothers, Russell, John Jr., and Kermit Davis; and five sisters, Doris Snyder, Roselle Gordino, Elizabeth Bartholomew, Shirley Hocking, and Sylvia Kirchhoffer.
In addition to her husband, Stanley, she was also predeceased by her daughter. Services: A memorial service in honor of Jean’s life will be conducted on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, located at 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath, Pennsylvania 18014. On Thursday morning, between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00, friends and family are cordially welcome to stop by the funeral home to pay their respects. After the funeral, the interment will take place in the Forks Church Cemetery in Stockertown.
