Marion Seekell Death, Obituary – Marion Seekell, a resident of Middleborough, Massachusetts, passed away on Friday morning, December 16, 2022, at the Sachem Center for Health & Rehabilitation in East Bridgewater. Her health had been deteriorating for a considerable amount of time prior to her passing. We are passing along the news of her departure with a heavy heart and a lot of grief. On April 25, 1931, in the town of Middleborough, Doris F. (Vickery) and Kenneth L. Tubman, Sr. became parents for the first time to their daughter Marion. Their daughter’s name was Marion.
She wed Kenneth E. Crowell, Sr. in 1947, and the couple went on to have a total of six children together throughout the course of their marriage. Middleborough served as the setting for Marion and Stephen D. Pawlak’s wedding, which took place in the 1970s. She wed Raymond P. Seekell of Raynham after the dissolution of her previous marriage to her former husband. Both Stephen and Raymond had preceded her in death before she did.
Marion held a position as a registered nursing assistant at the Colonial Cottage Nursing Home in Middleborough throughout the 1960s. She began her employment at the Woolworths Store in the 1970s, first working behind the counter where she served those great ice cream sundaes, and then working her way up to an office position at the Dedham site after a period of time spent working her way up through the ranks. Marion was a woman of many guises. Marion finally found a solution to her commuting woes when she accepted a position as a bookkeeper at B&H Auto in Middleborough. After that, in the later part of the 1980s, she found work at the Dorothy Egg Farm.
Both of the jobs were related to bookkeeping in some way. Bowling was one of Marion’s favorite activities, and she held the record for the highest score ever achieved at Lakeville Recreation. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, playing scrabble, bingo, and slots, and playing slots. In addition to that, she had a strong interest in gardening. Before Marion was born, both of her parents, two of her brothers—Kenneth L. Tubman Jr. and Earl Tubman, two of her sisters—Sally Marler and Lydia Francis, and one of her sons—Charles R. Crowell—passed away. Marion was the only member of her immediate family who had managed to survive.
Doris Cobb and Elizabeth Sennett, both of whom reside in Connecticut and Massachusetts respectively, are Marion’s surviving sisters. Among those who are in mourning following her passing are her children Kenneth E. Crowell, Jr. (Brenda Melville), William T. & Barbara Fetherston Crowell, Vicki & Rick Fleetwood of Middleborough, Larry & Barbara (Audette) Crowell of Fall River, Dawn & Charlene Crowell of Middleborough, as well as Charles’ partner Sandra McAssey. There are 11 grandchildren who will carry on her heritage, in addition to a significant number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
