Samuel Saxon Death, Obituary – Samuel Albert Saxon III, better known by his nickname “Sam,” was notable for his work as an artist as well as an educator. He was acknowledged for his contributions to both of these disciplines. On December 9, 2022, when he was 86 years old, he passed away. His departure occurred. Sam’s birthday is April 6th, and he was born in the year 1936 in the city of Albany, which is found in the state of Georgia. Samuel Albert Saxon, Jr. and Sarah Joe Murray Saxon gave birth to him, and he was named after his grandfather, Samuel Albert Saxon. His parents’ names are Samuel Albert Saxon, Jr. and Sarah Joe Murray Saxon.
After graduating from Gainesville High School in 1955 and continuing his education at the University of Florida, he went on to earn degrees from LaGrange College (1964, Speech and Theatre) and Brigham Young University. He began his educational journey in Gainesville, where he graduated from Gainesville High School in 1955. His wife of 18 years, Cecile Marie Sands, sons John, Robert (Ann), and Gus (Shelley), brother E. Gus Saxon (Kate), 5 granddaughters, and 11 great-grandchildren are among the surviving members of his family. He had been married for the last 18 years. His wife Cecile Marie Sands is the only living member of his immediate family at this time; the rest of his relatives have all passed away.
The funeral liturgy will take place on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Augustine Church and Catholic Student Center located at 1738 W University Ave., Gainesville, Florida 32603. Immediately after the ceremony, there will be a reception for all who have attended. The interment will take place at Oakview Cemetery, which can be found in Albany, Georgia. The city is in the state of Georgia. Sam asked that in place of flowers, monetary contributions be sent to either the St. Augustine Church and Catholic Student Center or the Harn Museum of Art. Both of these institutions are dedicated to Sam’s faith.
