Betty Yates Death, Obituary – The wedding between Betty Yates and Charles Yates took place on November 18th, 1945 in Butler. The couple became legally married after the ceremony. On April 13, 2022, he left this world, which was one day prior to her demise on April 14, 2022. She was self-employed as a seamstress for a number of years, conducting alterations and repairs on a variety of articles of clothing while working out of her house. She worked on a variety of garments. In addition to her employment at Marshall Clothing in Butler, she was also engaged for a number of years in a business that specialized in the production of bespoke curtains during the time that she was working there.
Betty was a very active member of the Butler EUB Church, which eventually combined with the Butler United Methodist Church to form the Butler United Methodist Church, which is where Betty was a member. She worked as a janitor at the church and was very engaged in many women’s groups in addition to being responsible for the provision of food for meals and other events throughout the course of a number of years. Her responsibilities included providing food for meals and other events. During this time, she was also in charge of ensuring that there was sufficient food available.
Over the course of more than a quarter of a century, Betty served as a volunteer driver for the Meals on Wheels program, as an election worker for the DeKalb County Election Board, and as an election worker for the Bloodmobile.
