Janice Griffin Obituary, Death – Janice Griffin, whose surname at birth was Kantner and who was 82 years old when she died away on October 21, 2022, had her maiden name as Kantner. After she graduated from Springfield High School, she relocated to the northernmost outskirts of the city. She spent her high school years at Springfield High School and was born in Decatur, Illinois. After having her children in Arlington Heights, where she had previously brought up her family, she moved to Lake in the Hills to continue raising her family.
She is survived by her cherished grandchildren Jake (Taylor) VanScoyoc, Adam Miller, Grace VanScoyoc, and Zach Miller. She is also survived by her daughters Sherri (Mike Psaras) Griffin, Lisa (Dave) VanScoyoc, and Patti (Joe) Miller. Her daughters are married to Mike Psaras. Joe Miller, who was to have been her spouse, passed away before she did. She is a loving and attentive owner of Toby, her cherished cat who adores her. Ralph Kantner and Genelle Kantner both passed away before she did, and both of them had been her parents.
Before commencing her work at McHenry County College, Janice was a devoted member of the Arlington Heights Jaycees for a number of years prior to beginning her career there. In addition, she worked in the hotel food and sales businesses, where she got excellent job experience. Janice was an avid reader who took great pleasure in frequenting the local bookshop as well as the public library in her community.
She enjoyed a wide range of activities, such as knitting, interior design, playing board games, and spending time with her loved ones, including her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the shining stars in her life, and she never passed up an opportunity to show her support for them by attending any of the countless activities in which they took part. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. On Saturday, December 3rd, there will be a visitation beginning at 10 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Ceremony beginning at 11 a.m.
Both of these events will be held at the Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, which can be found in Crystal Lake, Illinois at 500 West Terra Cotta Avenue.
