Norman Thomas Death, Obituary – His daughter, Teresa Thomas, as well as his parents, Louis Thomas and Laura Thomas, and his siblings, Anna France, Nora Ness, Lillian Garwood, Marian Melenbecker, Louis Thomas, George Thomas, and Ethel Calkins, all went away before he did. His wife, Anna France, also died before he did. Norm Thomas is survived by the woman he has been married to for the past 64 years, Doris (Sutterlin) Thomas; their children, Terry (Joanna) Thomas and Sondra (Adam) Thomas; their brother, Bill Thomas; their grandchildren, Briana Montanaro and Emmett Montanaro; as well as a large number of nieces and nephews.
Norm Thomas passed away on November 19, 2018. Norm was a diligent worker who had an intense love for his family and took a great deal of delight in operating his backhoe. During his time at the high school, he was a highly active student and took part in the sport of basketball. Before he joined the United States Army for a period of two years, he worked on the farm that his family had in the area that is now known as Swain, New York. Norm began his career as a general contractor and worked for himself for the first 40 years of his professional life. In addition, he was an active member of the Chili American Legion Post 1830 for the first 34 years of his professional life.
In order to maintain the maximum level of discretion, the burial will take place in the Mumford Rural Cemetery. On Saturday, May 21, at 1pm, his funeral will be place at the Chili American Legion Post #1830, which can be found at 450 Scottsville-Chili Road in Scottsville, New York 14546. This location is in the United States. Memorial contributions can be sent to CHS Mobile Integrated Healthcare (Ambulance), which is located at 280 Calkins Road, Rochester, New York 14623; or to Chili American Legion Post 1830, which is located at 450 Scottsville-Chili Road, Scottsville, New York 14546; both addresses can be found in the obituary.
