Abigail Godfrey Obituary – On July 31, 2022, at the age of twenty years old, Abigail Grace Godfrey lost her battle with death in the WellSpan York Hospital. When she passes away, her devoted family will experience a terrible sense of loss. Guests are welcome to attend a viewing that will be held at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. on the 10th of August, 2022 between the hours of 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
The viewing will be held in the chapel. After the viewing, there will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony with Certified Celebrant Allison Duke acting in the role of the celebrant. The burial will take place at the 35 Gotham Place Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in Red Lion, Pennsylvania, once the funeral services have concluded. Her parents, Thomas E. Godfrey and Nancy A. (Cain) Godfrey, Jr., gave her life on June 12, 2002, in York, and their names are now known around the world.
Abigail Godfrey was their daughter. Abigail graduated with the other students from the Dallastown Area High School class of 2020 in the year in question. She was an extremely active member of the school band as well as the Dallastown High School Drumline, the York Youth Symphony, and the First Capital Drumline. In addition, she played the drums. Abigail’s favorite things to do in her leisure time were to hang out with her cat Romeo and to do volunteer work at Heavenly Paws Animal Shelter.
She found happiness in participating in both of these pursuits. After she had passed away, Abigail was able to help eight other individuals by donating her organs to the Gift of Life program and therefore extending their lives. Her three brothers, Christopher T. Godfrey, Derrick T. Godfrey (Emily), and Ethan J. Madison, as well as her niece Harper L. Godfrey, nephew Landon J. Godfrey, and beloved cat Romeo, will carry on Abigail’s legacy after her passing. Her parents, Thomas E. Godfrey, Jr. and Nancy A. (Cain) Godfrey, passed away before she was born. When she was still a small child, both of her parents passed away.
