Jacob Thomas Obituary, Death – On the evening of Friday, December 9, 2022, around 5:00 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Chase Road near Lucy Little Road after receiving numerous calls regarding a two-vehicle head-on collision that involved a 2010 Ford Escape and a 2015 Nissan Altima. The collision involved the two vehicles colliding head-on with each other. The accident was caused by a head-on collision between two cars that were traveling in opposite directions.
The death of Jacob Thomas, a young engineer with whom I collaborated, mentored, and finally became his supervisor; I also campaigned to keep him on my team, and his passing away yesterday night as a result of a stupid motorist changed my perspective. The information that my father had passed away came to me as a total and absolute shock. I had no idea he was sick.
Because the Nissan had sustained such significant damage, the personnel from the fire department were required to rescue the driver and a passenger from the debris of the vehicle by cutting them free using cutting tools. Following this, both of them were sent to St. Luke’s Hospital with injuries that were severe but did not endanger their lives in any way.
During the course of the investigation that followed, the driver of the Ford, who was later identified as Jacob THOMAS, 19, of Chase Road, Dartmouth, was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, having an open container of marijuana in a motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failing to stay within marked lanes. THOMAS was charged with failing to stay within marked lanes and failing to stay within marked lanes.
THOMAS was charged with another offense for failing to stay inside the specified lines of traffic. As part of their investigation, the Dartmouth Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the crash to better understand what happened.
