Jim Kerns Obituary, Death – On the morning of December 9, 2022, at six o’clock in the morning, James C. Kerns, Sr., who was 78 years old, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital. Jim Kerns is the son of James E. Kerns and Esther (Atkinson) Kerns; he was born in Vincennes on March 23, 1944, and he currently resides in that city. Jim Kerns is known as “Jim.” Jim was a farmer who had a deep love for animals of all kinds, especially his horses, cattle, dogs, and other canine companions. He also had a special place in his heart for other dogs. Jim enjoys a variety of hobbies, some of which include going to events that are known as “tractor pulls,” collecting vintage agricultural equipment, and making his own ice cream.

His daughter, Kimberly Downen, resides in Monroe City, Indiana. His son, James C. Kerns, Jr., and his wife Joyce reside in Vincennes, Indiana. His grandchildren, Jeremy Hollis and his wife Ashley, J.D. Hollis and Cody Akers, Kristen Jones and her husband Alex, Racheal Kerns and Xavier Burns, and Jacob Kerns; and his great grandchildren, Jillian and Paxton Hollis; as well as Jim’s Both of Jim’s parents, James E. and Esther Kerns, had already passed away prior to Jim’s passing.

On the afternoon of Monday, December 19, 2022, at 1:30 pm, funeral services for Jim will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Trevor Murry serving as the officiant. Everyone who knew and cared about Jim is cordially invited to pay their respects at the memorial service that will be held in his honor.
