Leslie Williams Death, Obituary – Don Williams, the devoted husband of club member Leslie Williams, went away suddenly on Monday afternoon. Leslie’s family and friends have our deepest sympathies, and so does the Laurieton Rotary Club. Leslie’s family and friends are there to comfort her and support her at this terribly trying time. They kindly ask that people respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time. It was Don’s death. The family requests donations to the fund in lieu of flowers. Many people will miss him, including his siblings Edna Marie Williams and Bruce Williams, as well as his children Jan (Steve) Krzesicki, Bruce (Kathleen McLaughlin), and David (Michelle) Williams, as well as his grandsons Nathan and Jacob Krzesicki, Lauren (Alec) Cross, and Jason Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Emma Jean “E.J.” Williams, his grandson Christopher David Williams, and his sisters Norma and Charlie Williams.

Leslie enlisted in the American military during World War II and participated in the occupation of Japan. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in civil engineering in 1951, and from that point until his retirement in 1987, he worked for Consumers Energy. Leslie was involved in the First United Methodist Church, where she served on the board of trustees and sang in the choir. He formerly held the position of president of the Consumers Powers Employees Club and belonged to a number of organizations, including the Jackson Kiwanis Club, Habitat for Humanity, and the Jaycees.

In her own time, Leslie liked to put puzzles together and played golf fairly well. Funeral services for Leslie will be held at First United Methodist Church on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Tonya Arnesen and Rev. Julie Nygaard will preside. The funeral service and burial will take held in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday, September 10 at 2:00 PM. On Saturday from 9:30 to 11:00, the family will host a get-together at First United Methodist Church.
