Patrick Fitzmorris Death, Obituary – Patrick Dwight “Hoss” Fitzmorris was the funniest, most generous, and most kind-hearted person to ever walk the earth. He was born on September 1, 1983, and passed away on a Thursday, December 8, 2022. Patrick was reared on the grass seed farm owned by his family, where he worked for numerous years. Patrick enjoyed taking part in logging operations with the Forestry Club at Oregon State University as he worked toward his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree.
He worked with his friends there to construct a new logging sports stadium in order to host Conclave, an annual logging sports competition for colleges around the Pacific Northwest. There in the woods, he would meet Jessica, the woman who would become his future wife and true love. The three stylish and vivacious children of Patrick and Jessica are Sierra, Makenna, and Alena. Patrick adopted the girls in 2016 after being married to Jessica on June 7, 2014.
Patrick decided to take a different professional route after spending years raising sheep, shearing them, and working in the farm’s warehouse. He enrolled at the OHSU School of Nursing, where he graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Nursing. After graduating, Patrick worked as a surgical nurse in the Eugene-Springfield area. Patrick served as a volunteer firefighter with the Halsey and Brownsville fire departments since he was so concerned about his community.
A memorial service will be held on January 29, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Forestry Club Cabin in the Peavy Arboretum, located at NW Peavy Arboretum Rd. in Corvallis, OR 97330. Participants are requested to don something orange or chestnut. In lieu of flowers, his wife and children ask that donations be donated to Central Linn High School’s Frasier Memorial Scholarship. Please write “Frasier” in the memo line of checks made out to the CL Foundation. Donations can be sent to Sue Frasier at PO BOX 167, Halsey, OR 97348.
